Recently, a number of LIM computer system users gave their passwords to spammers and hackers in response to scam emails fraudulently claiming to be from LIM’s IT staff. Providing your personal LIM password, grants spammers and hackers access to our systems - myLIM, email, Sonis, Blackboard, my documents, servers, applications, etc.
LIM has a number of advanced tools and safeguards in place to help prevent criminals from acquiring your personal data. But we cannot do it alone. Therefore, it is essential that you comply with our policies.
We ask everyone to never share their password with anyone, including via an email. If you wish to change your password, it can only be done three (3) ways: 1 - via myLIM, 2- face to face visit with a LIM IT professional, 3 - via the phone, where an LIM College IT support member will ask you a number of private questions before resetting your password for you.

Per the Student Handbook, the College’s primary means of contacting you is your LIM College email account. This is the source of communication on a day-to-day basis between faculty, staff, and students.
There are many student mailboxes that have reached capacity and are no longer receiving important messages from the College. Please go into your LIM College email account to delete any outdated messages to ensure that you are able to receive future communications.
